First Annual Founder’s Day Unites Team FSS

Team FSS CLE

April 22, 2010 – The theme of the first annual FSS Founders’ Day was “Celebrate the Founding, Celebrate the Future,” and Team FSS did just that. The day was an opportunity to honor the hard work and dedication of FSS Founders and team members who have made FSS the successful leader in the aviation staffing and technology industry it is today. Festivities included pizza parties and cook-outs at our locations from coast to coast as all of Team FSS joined together to reflect on the past and look forward to a bright future for the company.

Founder and President Bobby Weitzel and Chairman and CEO Bob Weitzel, Sr. were honored for their leadership with engraved crystal awards during a lunchtime celebration. The commitment of both Weitzel and Weitzel, Sr., to exceeding client expectations and providing a great place of employment for over 2000 team members has guided FSS through the course of its 10 years of successful operation.

FSS employees enjoyed a brief video highlighting some history of the company while also reinforcing a strong message about FSS’ growth and potential. In addition, employees received a commemorative Founders’ Day 2010 lapel pin and Founders’ Day cookies.

Founders’ Day also provided a chance for a little friendly competition among employees. The compete program was an opportunity for FSS team members to submit ideas for improvement within their station, with 1st prize winning $100, 2nd prize winning $50, and 3rd prize winning $25.

First prize went to team DEN, for their suggestions on improving the passenger assistant uniform. 49 DEN team members contributed to the concept of, “professional appearance, increased mobility, low maintenance and employee comfort.”

Second prize was awarded to Rex Tobler, DEN Passenger Assistant, who presented a thoughtful suggestion on resolving the problem of “no show” passengers for wheelchair service.  His suggestion aimed at creating, “a cooperative effort to improve not only time but most of all good customer service.”  The third and final prize went to Miltiadh Ziu, Team BOS, for suggesting a method to improve accountability and process for managing wheelchairs and mobile devices.

To finish off the celebration, FSS made an exciting announcement about the launch of the “FSS Exceed the Standards” scholarship award. The award will be granted to a student of an employee who is pursuing continuing education.  FSS is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and supporting the FSS family in the pursuit of achievement.  Please contact your local station manager for more information on applying for the scholarship.
